 Set the Administration/Memory/Disk Cache client to 20 KB after

installing the font SIMM, and also after performing an Administra-

tion/Memory/Quick Config.

▲ Caution:

You may need to decrease one of the other memory

clients before increasing the Disk Cache client. This option

should be used only by individuals who are familiar with adjusting

memory settings. Improper use of this option could cause your

system to operate incorrectly.

It's very important to protect the printer controller board and

other circuit boards such as SIMM boards, the Multi-Res

daughterboard, and so on from electrostatic damage while

performing this task. Review the anti-static guidelines in “Removing

the Controller Board,” earlier in this section.

Handle the SIMM carefully and preferably by the edges only.

1 Access the printer controller board

2 Position the controller board so the interface panel is facing

you.

3 Remove the SIMM from the anti-static bag.
